What data we collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service:

• Account information — email address, name (if provided), and authentication credentials.
• Content — articles, blocks, and other content you create within Writero.
• Usage data — AI operation counts and credit balances to manage your subscription.
• Payment information — processed securely by our payment processor. We do not store your card details.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide and improve the Writero service:

• To authenticate your account and manage your subscription.
• To process your AI requests (rewriting, research, image generation).
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing notifications).
• To monitor and fix errors in the service.

Third-party services

We use the following categories of third-party services to operate Writero:

• AI providers — your prompts and content sent for AI processing (rewriting, research, image generation) are shared with third-party AI providers via OpenRouter.
• Payment processing — payment information is handled securely by our payment processor. We do not store your card details.
• Authentication providers — if you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your email and name from the respective provider.
• Email delivery — we use a third-party service to deliver transactional emails such as account confirmations and billing alerts.
• Telegram — if you connect your Telegram account, we store your Telegram user ID and chat ID to enable the integration. Content you send or receive through the Telegram bot is processed through Telegram's servers.
• Bot protection — we use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect forms from automated abuse. This sends verification data to Cloudflare.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use any third-party tracking cookies or analytics cookies.

What we don't do

• We do not use Google Analytics or any other external analytics tools.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. However, the third-party services listed above operate under their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their data handling practices.
• We do not use your content to train AI models. However, third-party AI providers that process your requests may use data according to their own policies. We are not responsible for their data practices.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and follow industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

Files and images are stored using S3-compatible cloud storage in the United States.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, which will permanently remove all your data including articles, blocks, and associated content. Deleted articles are retained for up to 90 days to allow recovery, after which they are permanently removed.

We may retain anonymised, aggregated data (such as total operation counts) for internal analytics after account deletion.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Export your content (available via the export feature).

Writero is not intended for users under 16 years of age. By using the service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old.
